Coming of Age Leader's Training
a three-day training series for teachers, church leaders, and those the work with youth.
Drawing on Journeys’ 40-year history, this seminar series provides the conceptual framework and practical tools to bring rites of passage into your own community.
The heart of our training program is the Coming of Age Leader’s Training series. We encourage people to take the three one-day workshops as a package, but they can also be attended individually. The three workshops are entitled Creating Programs to Initiate Teens, Skills of Mentoring, and How the Earth Mentors. They are individually described elsewhere in the Education section of this website.
Journeys offers this series to the general public at least once per year. Alternatively, a school, church or other organization can choose to co-sponsor the series. In this case, Journeys will schedule to fit your needs and will collaborate with your in-house leadership. We work in this way with groups across North America.
The trainers of this series are our most qualified, senior staff. Heading the team is Stan Crow, Director of Journeys for over 25 years, and now our elder as Director Emeritus. He is joined by other staff members possessing depth and breadth of experience that allow them to explore, strategize, and problem solve in service to the unique needs of each participant.
