Providing meaningful rites of passage takes a village! We are excited by your interest to get involved in this work, and would love to connect with you soon. Here are some of the top ways you can participate:
Our programs depend upon volunteers and financial donors. Their support is what keeps us energetically doing our work. There are a number of ways you can become involved, whether as a regular volunteer or an occasional one. Help us make a difference in the lives of youth and adults! For more information, please fill out the form on our Volunteer With Journeys page.
We also hold work parties four times during the year to mobilize collective energy to complete essential tasks, while building community and having fun. Whether it's stuffing envelopes, splitting wood for the sweat lodge, planting trees or preparing basecamp for the upcoming summer -- we always appreciate help.
Are you interested in having a deeper experience with Journeys? Do you want to be a part of the magic behind the scenes of a non-profit? Then this is the opportunity for you. We offer internships for those who want to understand the inner workings of our organization and contribute to the wonderful work we do in an invaluable way.
We regularly have new internship opportunities -- and don't hesitate to pitch your own idea reflecting your personal skills or gifts. Contact us to inquire about a position.
Summer Program Opportunities:
Each summer, Journeys offers a limited number of positions for those that want to serve youth and families through our summer experiences. These positions are a great way to make a difference in the lives of youth, and learn our methods first-hand! Please scroll down for details.

Apprentice Positions Remain for 2019!
If you are called to guide youth through transformative wilderness rite of passage experiences and backpacking expeditions, consider applying and giving your gifts through Journeys.
There are three levels to our staff team structure based on experience: Program Coordinator, Program Mentor and Program Apprentice. You may read more about job descriptions by clicking on these links.
Most of our seasonal program staff begin in the Apprentice Position. We strongly believe that, even with relevant wilderness and backcountry experiences, our program staff will best be trained and prepared through experiential learning.
We also highly recommend you consider enrolling in the latest version of our Rite of Passage Mentor Training Program,
developed over the last few decades: Restoring Youth Rites of Passage: Two Week Leadership Intensive.
This program, or solid previous experience in youth rite of passage work, is strongly encouraged in order to apprentice or staff our youth programs for ages 12 and older.
Regardless of the position you would like to apply for, please spend some time getting acquainted with our program offerings. Then complete an online application that includes the program position(s) you are interested in and submit the supplemental materials via mail or email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Thank you for considering a summer with us! We look forward to hearing from you. Also, in the meantime consider dropping in on one of our upcoming community or volunteer events – you can find these listed on our Community Workshops & Events page.

EXPLORE OUR PROGRAMS
Our summer youth programs, for ages 8 – 18, help young people navigate the journey from childhood to adulthood in a supported, mentored way.
Our adult programs, for ages 18 and older, grew out of the strong need we saw to guide adults through their own rites of passage — for transition does not end at age 18.
These programs foster the presence necessary for authentic connections, which are essential in our relationships with all beings.
