Wild Edibles
Spring Plant Foraging Class
Ages 18+ | Saturday, Apr. 4th, 2026 | 10a - 1p PST
Sliding Scale: $100-$250 | Financial Aid is Available
Spring is an abundant time here in the Pacific Northwest and there are new delicious greens popping up every day.
Come join us at the Rites of Passage Journeys Basecamp where herbalist and plant enthusiast, Rachael Witt, will be offering a class about wild edible plants!
In this class, we will explore the evergreen forest understory as well as the Songaia gardenscape and learn how to identify local edible plants, discuss ethical and honorable harvesting techniques, and prepare a foraged wild edible meal! Participants will make herbal gourmet infusions and learn ways of processing and storing plants to best preserve their nutrients and flavor. Some wild edible preparations may include sea salt blends, vinegars, and wild teas. Handouts covering recipes of plant preparations, ethical harvesting, toxicity, and further resources will be provided.
This class is intended to enhance your connection to local plants by eating on the wild side. It will help you know why what grows where and how our green allies nourish our bodies.
