Our Number is the Fool, Carrying the Eternal Within Us

A mystic, embodied and intellectual inquiry of a beloved trickster

Ages 18+ |  Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025 | Sliding Scale: $125-$400 | Financial Aid is Available

a tarot & art collage workshop!

Part interdisciplinary presentation, part guided intuitive art workshop; together we will queer the Jungian archetype of the Fool from the major arcana. This presentation will open with a brief historic examination of the rise of the Fool as a liminal, disruptive trickster within European hierarchies of rulership. Then we will move to examine and discuss Western culture’s hijacking of this card’s original state of beginner’s mind innocence and the erasure of certain pathways of spiritual knowledge through epistemological dominance. Lastly, we will explore how the numerical zero designation of this card can trouble the coerced linearity of time and reality, guiding us back into an internal and external spiralic connection that allows us to begin anew even in the midst of crisis.

All participants will be encouraged to create a collaged anchor image to take home and use as visual inspiration, altar art object or personal iconography that reflects their unique relationship with this sacred archetype. Participants will have access to an extensive image library, acid free paper and glue, exacto blades and scissors, and creative guidance and collage instruction from the facilitator.

Please bring a journal and a tarot deck if you have one.

friedel fisher

Friedel Fisher is a queer artist and Tarot researcher that has been fascinated by the visual culture and uncanny mysticism of the Tarot since early adolescence. They have been communing with it as an oracular guide and grounding mirror for the present moment ever since. Blending together the spiritual, the somatic and the academic, they endeavor to queer the Jungian archetypes found within the Major Arcana of the tarot in order for subjective interpretation and interconnected meaning-making to be re-imagined away from the confines of oppressive institutions and systems.
