Three Pillars of Giving:
Annual Operating Fund – The Heartbeat
This is what keeps the lights on and the programs alive. It includes everything from wilderness permits and gear storage to staff wages and—most importantly—scholarships for youth and families who couldn’t otherwise afford our programs.
We do everything we can to keep costs low, but the nature of our work—remote terrain, skilled staff, safety protocols, and deep mentorship—means we can’t run on a shoestring. Each year, we offer nearly $50,000 in scholarships, with special attention to low-income and BIPOC youth.
And we believe in taking care of our staff with fair wages, job security, and benefits—they are the steady hands and open hearts that make this work possible. A strong operating fund ensures we can continue this soul-deep, life-changing work.
The Roots: Our Endowment Fund
Launched in 2025, this fund is our way of growing deeper, mycelial roots for the long haul. A healthy endowment builds resilience for the decades ahead, helping us weather unexpected storms while continuing to provide access and equity.

The Hearth: Our Future Education Center (Capital Campaign begins Jan. 2026)
In partnership with Songaia and the Willow Center for Community Resilience, we’re dreaming into a transformation of the old stable currently used for gear and outdoor cooking. In its place: a vibrant education center for nature connection, soulful leadership, earth care, and community resilience.
This shared space will become a hub for hands-on learning, deeper gatherings, and systems rooted in regeneration. Stay tuned as we launch this exciting campaign—and consider being part of building something that will serve youth, community, and the planet for years to come.

Make a Qualified Charitable Distribution
If you’re 70½ or older, you may be required to take an annual distribution from your IRA. Donating a portion of it to Rite of Passage Journeys could reduce your taxable income. Consult your advisor to explore this meaningful option.
